In this most unfortunate case, our client was correctly diagnosed with an acute above the knee DVT (deep vein thrombosis) and, contrary to multiple nationally accepted standards of practice, the client failed to get immediate anticoagulation and 12 hours later developed massive pulmonary emboli, causing a major stroke that left him wheelchair-bound, legally blind, mentally impaired and unable to take care of even his most basic needs, requiring 24-hour care for the rest of his life.

Our client was bitten by a spider while in a housing facility, and then refused appropriate, necessary, and time-sensitive medical care. As a result, he became partially paralyzed.
